I have to say that now that I have gone through that class I came out on the other side so excited for life. I felt like,and still do feel like, if I put my mind to doing something, anything, then I can do it. I just have to work for it. I find myself going all out, making new friends and not hiding inside my shell any more. You know there was a guy in my class and at first he was hating life. He was one of those "all I have to do is get through this and get home", kind of people. But when everything started really happening, then he opened up and actually did stuff. He became a kid that everyone wanted to be around and it amazed me how much one person can actually change in just one weekend. I was actually excited that I was able to be apart of a program that could change so many people in such a positve way. I was always excited to get up in the mornings and go start the classes because everyday, every class held something new and amazing that helped me find myself and be excited about it.
Well that was only half the journey, the rest was more amazing then words could ever possibly say." Beginning today, I will break out of my comfort zone of being emotionally hurt and know the person that I am is so MUCH better than the people who do their best to tear me down … I now know that I am unstoppable in whatever I do. I know I will succeed at this because from this day forward, I am my own person… and like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon, I will emerge a better leader of my own life and my life choices. " I was sponsored to this training by the Foundation and thought it was going to be just another "feel good" weekend, only to come home to the same problems I have always faced. The hardest thing to admit was that it was only me holding myself back. I was always believing what other people said and now realize I can be whatever I want and not what they think I am.
